Admission Criteria

Admission criteria are determined by the applicants’ high school subject grades, the type of curriculum they completed, and the chosen field of study and degree program. Admission to all bachelor’s degree programs requires a minimum grade of 80% in the high school English subject or an equivalent English proficiency score, such as TOEFL iBT score of 61 or an IELTS Academic band score of 5.0. Students who have completed non-UAE Ministry of Education curricula delivered in English are not required to provide evidence of English language proficiency. Additionally, all applicants are required to successfully pass a personal interview conducted in English. Sponsored students are eligible for admission only if nominated by their respective sponsors.

General Requirements

  • National student applicants must have graduated from high school no later than Three years before the current year.
  • National student applicants applying to NQC programs must have graduated from high school no later than Six years before the current year.
  • Only UAE Nationals can be considered for the NQC programs.
  • Applicants Maximum age is 25 years old, and 26 years for NQC programs.
  • No age limit for top-up program applicants.
  • International applicants who completed high school outside the UAE will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
  • The equivalency of their high school scores in Mathematics, Physics, and one additional science subject when applying to the bachelor’s degree must meet 80%.
  • Students graduating from private schools must submit an Equivalency Certificate issued by the UAE Ministry of Education.

Conditional Admission

Applicants for the Bachelor’s program who meet the English admission requirements but do not meet the requirements in Mathematics, Physics, or another science subject may be granted conditional admission for one semester only, if they achieve a minimum score of 70% for the Elite, 75% for the Advanced tracks, and 80% for the General or Applied tracks in the aforementioned subjects. These students must successfully complete preparatory zero-credit courses in their first semester of enrolment in the relevant subject(s) with a minimum grade of B to continue in their desired program. Those who fail to pass their preparatory course will be dismissed from ADPoly.

Students have one opportunity to retake the final exam if they fail the remedial course with a grade of “F” (Fail), but not with an “FA” (Fail due to absence).

Transfer students from other accredited colleges/universities who passed courses which are Mathematics, and one of the four science courses (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Computer Science) shall not register for preparatory zero credit courses after reviewing the course syllabus; and they can be registered as per their study plan.
