Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest and broadest areas of the engineering profession that deals with different applications and industries. The Mechanical Engineering Technology specialization graduates can pursue their careers in power plants, oil industries, HVAC systems, Fire systems, planes maintenance and services, manufacturing processes, and many other fields of industries. Mechanical engineers can work as maintenance engineers, project managers, project designers, project supervisors.
The Mechanical specialization was offered in response to the rapidly growing demands from the UAE industry for graduates who can design products and processes that incorporate interdisciplinary skills.
In the Mechanical specialization, and in addition to the basic sciences, our students are involved in the following science and engineering topics: modeling and simulation of physical systems; manufacturing processes; automation; thermodynamics; pneumatic and hydraulic systems; computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing; mechanical design; quality management; fluid mechanics, heat transfer, control systems, as well health safety and environment.
Mechanical Engineering Technology specialization students need to possess good mathematical skills and lots of technical skills, analytical and logical analysis skills, project management and the ability to work in teams.
Being an applied mechanical engineer our students studies focus on laboratory practice and applied examples. Therefore, in our facilities, we have quite a variety of state of the art laboratory equipment. For example, a well-equipped pneumatic and hydraulic lab from Festo, Process control Laboratory, state of the art strength of materials lab, HVAC lab, fluid mechanics lab, thermodynamics lab, heat transfer lab, power lab, pumps and compressors training facility, factory automation lab with a cutting edge Festo MPS station, and all the necessary mechanical labs.
