Academic Support Department

The Academic Support Department (ASD) was established to support Abu Dhabi Polytechnic’s mission of providing high-quality academic services and general education. ASD plays a vital role in equipping students with the foundational knowledge and essential skills needed for academic success in Applied Science and Engineering Technology programs. The department delivers a comprehensive range of courses in mathematics, physics, chemistry, English, humanities, and engineering fundamentals. These offerings are developed in alignment with institutional program requirements, national accreditation standards, international benchmarks, and the goals of Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030.

ASD’s mission is to enhance student performance and promote lifelong learning through structured academic support, tutoring, and enrichment programs. It delivers the General Education Curriculum across five core clusters, ensuring students receive a broad and balanced education that complements their technical specialization. The department supports students through academic learning centers, co-curricular activities, and collaboration with other academic units. ASD also offers targeted skills-based workshops, and provides additional learning opportunities in communication, and innovation to support students’ overall academic and professional development.
