Dr. Georgios Fotopoulos

Dr. Georgios Fotopoulos joined Abu Dhabi Polytechnic in April 2023 as an Assistant Professor in Applied Mathematics. Prior to this appointment, he held a position as an Assistant Professor in Xiamen University Malaysia. He obtained his PhD in Applied Mathematics from University of Oulu, Finland in 2015. Additionally, he holds, a MSc degree in Applied Mathematics from University of Athens, Greece and a BSc degree in Mathematics from University of Patras, Greece. Moreover, he has worked as postdoctoral fellow in Khalifa University, UAE, in Qatar University and in University of Oulu, Finland.

Dr. Georgios’ research interests lie in the fields of: i) nonlinear mathematical physics, namely, in the emergence and stability of localized excitations in continuous and discrete nonlinear models and ii) of inverse problems (scattering problems, Electrical Impedance Tomography). His work involves both analytical and numerical considerations. Moreover, he sustains research links with: Xiamen University Malaysia, University of Thessaly, Greece, University of the Aegean, Greece and Khalifa University, UAE. REPRESENTATIVE PUBLICATIONS.
