Abu Dhabi Polytechnic Hosts Generative AI Workshops for Academic Staff

As part of its commitment to continuous professional development, Abu Dhabi Polytechnic recently hosted two specialized academic workshops focusing on the transformative role of generative Artificial Intelligence in higher education.

Delivered by Professor Mohammednoor Altarawneh from the Department of Chemical Engineering at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU)—and organized under the ACTVET–UNESCO-UNEVOC series—the sessions explored the growing impact of AI on teaching, assessment, and academic practice.

The workshops brought together academic staff in a focused dialogue on emerging pedagogical approaches, supporting the ongoing advancement of teaching practice in response to technological transformation within higher education.
