Students from the Meteorology Department at Abu Dhabi Polytechnic recently visited Al Dhafra Air Base to explore the operational meteorology support provided to the UAE Air Forces by Global Air Navigation Services (GANS). During the visit, students were introduced to key infrastructures for meteorological forecasting, long-term meteorological data analysis for operational use, and the overall role of GANS in supporting UAE Air Force operations.

The experience offered students an in-depth look at the UAE’s military meteorology capabilities, supplementing their knowledge of civilian services provided by the National Centre of Meteorology. Students also had the opportunity to connect with UAE Air Force officers and meteorology experts, enhancing their professional networks and broadening their perspectives in the field. This visit provided valuable practical insights into the operational applications of meteorology within a military context.
