Takamul Workshop on Patent Lifecycle and Intellectual Property Workshop

Abu Dhabi Polytechnic recently hosted Takamul Workshop on the patent lifecycle and intellectual property management, featuring guest speakers Ms. Rawya Hamad S. Al Jneibi, Mr. Burkhard Josuhn-Kadner, and Mr. Johannes Herbert. The workshop provided participants with a structured overview of the journey from a technical idea to a patent application, covering essential stages such as invention disclosure, patent filing, and IP protection. Key discussions included common misunderstandings around patents, challenges specific to universities and startups, and the importance of nondisclosure agreements.

The guest speakers shared best practices for identifying innovations, guided brainstorming methods, and practical advice for navigating IP decisions. Participants were introduced to patent taxonomy, the role of AI in prior art research, and practical examples of commercial IP management tools. This workshop highlights ADPoly’s commitment to fostering innovation and equipping its community with essential knowledge to protect and develop intellectual property.
