Abu Dhabi Polytechnic Hosts Trademark Awareness Workshop

Abu Dhabi Polytechnic recently hosted an awareness workshop titled “The Importance of Trademarks and the Role of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development in Protecting Them.”

The workshop introduced students to the importance of trademark registration, intellectual property protection, and the role of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) in safeguarding trademarks and combating commercial fraud.

Through the session, Ms. Shaima Al Afifi and Mr. Malik Hanouf from ADDED presented key insights on trademark protection procedures and highlighted the regulatory efforts undertaken to protect markets, businesses, and consumers.

The initiative aimed to enhance students’ awareness of the importance of protecting intellectual property and understanding the mechanisms that support fair competition and innovation in the business environment, as part of preparing the next generation to contribute to a sustainable and knowledge-based economy.
