The ABAME program is outlined in such a way that the students will be completing CAT A GCAA/EASA related modules in the first 2 years, while the third year allows students to complete courses required by GCAA/EASA CAT B1 or B2. The final year would encompass aircraft maintenance industry related modules. This year is unique after comparison with other national and international accredited institutions. The final year provided by Abu Dhabi Polytechnic encompasses modules like maintenance strategies, aircraft value and maintenance cost, aircraft structure repair and overhaul, aircraft structural analysis, accident investigation, inspection procedures, Avionics and instrumentation systems maintenance Aircraft Communication and Navigation systems … etc as shown in the study plan.
These modules will strengthen the knowledge and skills needed to join the industry as a freshman. The ABAME is designed in accordance with international standards as well as MOE-CAA (Committee of Academic Accreditation) standards. The student’s knowledge and skills in aircraft maintenance engineering will be utilized as a platform for advancing into a position in one of the many aviation industries such as Aircraft Manufacturers, Aircraft Maintenance Technician, Engine Mechanic Supervisor, Aircraft Mechanic Inspector, Aircraft Structural Repair Officer and Aviation Engineer. These courses prepare the students to repair and overhaul commercial aircraft in accordance with high standards of aviation safety.
The ABAME program emphasizes technical proficiency with a structured approach over four years. The first two years focus on CAT A GCAA/EASA modules. The third year includes courses for GCAA/EASA CAT B1 or B2 certification. The final year provides advanced modules such as maintenance strategies, aircraft value, and cost, structural repair, and avionics systems, preparing students for industry-specific challenges.
Applied Bachelor in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Aeromechanic)
The Aeromechanic specialization equips students with essential knowledge and hands-on skills in maintaining and repairing the mechanical systems of aircraft. Aligned with EASA CAT B1 standards, this program covers airframe structures, engines, hydraulic systems, and flight controls. Graduates are prepared for careers as Aircraft Maintenance Technicians, Engine Mechanics, and Structural Repair Officers, ready to meet the demands of the aviation industry.
Applied Bachelor in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Avionics)
The Avionics specialization focuses on the electrical and electronic systems that ensure safe aircraft operation, following EASA CAT B2 standards. Students gain expertise in communication, navigation, instrumentation, and control systems. Graduates are qualified for roles such as Avionics Technicians and Electrical Systems Engineers, with skills suited for airlines, aircraft manufacturers, and MRO facilities.
Both specializations offer a blend of theoretical and practical training, ensuring graduates are industry-ready to excel in the global aviation sector.
