ENGL-2011: Public Speaking (Blended L.)

Description
This course prepares students for situations where public speaking is required. Through an e-learning approach to learning, this course will help students practice and develop effective communication skills to compose and present speeches appropriate to various audiences, purposes, and occasions. Topics will also include ethical responsibilities when speaking to others, overcoming fear, vocal aspects of speech delivery, nonverbal communications, and using appropriate visual aids. Critical thinking competencies will be incorporated in the course. Lecture 2 hours/week Online Pre-requisite: ENGL1012.
