The Abu Dhabi Polytechnic – Al Ain aviation program is an approved program under the European Aviation Safety Agency’s (EASA) Part 147 and the General Civil Aviation Authority’s (GCAA) CAR 147 to provide the theoretical and practical training, examination, and assessment required to support the course(s) specified in Maintenance Training Organization Exposition (MTOE) Part 1.9 and Part 2.1. All training is conducted in accordance with PART 66 requirements. The programs are as follows:
The ABAMM program is outlined in such a way that the students will be completing CAT A GCAA/EASA related modules in the first 2 years, while the third year allows students to complete courses required by GCAA/EASA CAT B1 or B2. The fourth (final) year is unique in its structure as it provides a management option atop a technical degree. It contains several courses that address the programs goals such as Aviation Maintenance and Operation Support courses, Aviation Business and Management courses, etc. as shown in the study plan.
The ABAMM degree program intends to prepare students with the necessary technical knowledge, skill and management know how to undertake leadership positions in the Aviation Industry. In this degree program, students complete a core of courses in general education, a core of aircraft maintenance leading to professional certification, and an area of concentration constituting advanced aircraft maintenance courses, as well as business and management courses constituting the basic tools of management sciences.
The ABAMET program is outlined in such a way that the students will be completing CAT A GCAA/EASA related modules in the first 2 years, while the third year allows students to complete courses required by GCAA/EASA CAT B1 or B2. The final year would encompass aircraft maintenance industry related modules. This year is unique after comparison with other national and international accredited institutions. The final year provided by Abu Dhabi Polytechnic encompasses modules like maintenance strategies, aircraft value and maintenance cost, aircraft structure repair and overhaul, aircraft structural analysis, accident investigation, inspection procedures, Avionics and instrumentation systems maintenance Aircraft Communication and Navigation systems … etc as shown in the study plan.
These modules will strengthen the knowledge and skills needed to join the industry as a freshman. The ABAMET is designed in accordance with international standards as well as MOE-CAA (Committee of Academic Accreditation) standards. The student’s knowledge and skills in aircraft maintenance engineering will be utilized as a platform for advancing into a position in one of the many aviation industries such as Aircraft Manufacturers, Aircraft Maintenance Technician, Engine Mechanic Supervisor, Aircraft Mechanic Inspector, Aircraft Structural Repair Officer and Aviation Engineer.
