Articulation

Newly admitted students at Abu Dhabi Polytechnic may apply for recognition of prior learning through an articulation process. Once the application and all required documents are submitted, the files will be reviewed by subject matter experts. Students will be notified of the Articulation Committee’s decision within five working days of submitting a complete application.

Requirements (Recognition of Prior Learning)

  • Only newly admitted students are eligible to apply.
  • Applications must be submitted at least 5 working days before course registration opens for the first semester only.
  • Students will receive a notification from the system and must complete the online Articulation Application Form, listing the courses, certificates, or skills they wish to articulate.
  • The following documents must be submitted all at once and before the deadline through the Articulation Platform:
    • Official transcript and certificate (The Articulation Office will use the copy submitted during admission).
    • English proficiency certificates, if applicable (e.g., IELTS, EmSAT, TOEFL).
    • Stamped course syllabus for each course to be articulated, issued and stamped by the former university/institution, matching the version taken by the student, and including:
      • University/Institution name
      • Course code
      • Course title
      • Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs)
      • Credit hours
      • Contact hours
      • Course content
      • The Academic Year and the semester on the syllabus should match the transcript.
  • All documents will be reviewed by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
  • Students will be notified of the Articulation Committee’s decision within 5 working days of submitting a complete application.

Fees

The application is free of charge.

Appeal and Re-evaluation

If a student is not satisfied with the articulation decision, they may appeal to their Head of Department within five working days of receiving the decision.
