This course introduces elements of vibrating systems, examples of vibratory motions, simple harmonic motion, vector representation. Systems with single and multiple degrees of freedom: linear and torsional vibrations, damped and undamped free vibrations, forced vibrations, vibration isolation. Vibration measuring instruments. Properties of vibrating systems. Noise measurements and vibration control. Lecture 2 hrs/wk, Lab 2 hrs/wk.
