Description
This course is designed to allow students to develop knowledge and understanding of the principles of operation of refrigeration and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) systems. Students will also develop the knowledge and understanding of the criteria used to select suitable system courses and the skills to test the performance of systems. The topics covered include thermodynamic relations, psychrometry, HVAC processes, cooling and heating loads, and air duct design. Lecture 2 hrs/wk, Lab 2 hrs/wk.
