Description
Blockchain is the distributed and decentralized database technology behind cryptocurrency. This course explores the fundamentals of the public, transparent, secure, immutable and distributed database called blockchain. Blockchains can be used to record and transfer any digital asset not just currency. This course will introduce students to the workings and applications of this potentially disruptive technology. Smart contact programming using Solidity will be introduced. Its potential applications on financial services, government, banking, contracting and identity management will be discussed. Lecture: 2 hrs/week; Lab: 2hrs/week.
