Description
This course introduces students to the principal activities and state-of-the-art techniques involved in developing digital forensics systems. Topics covered may include forensic analysis of modern filesystems and reconstruction, network forensics, mobile device forensics, memory forensics, and anti- forensics, file carving, etc. Upon successful completion of this course, students shall know the role digital evidence plays in criminal and civil investigations and incident response. Lecture: 2 hrs/week; Lab: 2 hrs/week. SSA322 Security Tools and Technologies: Windows (3 CR).This course Provides hands-on experience in configuring and experimenting with security software in widows environment through live laboratory environment, with the purpose of understanding real-world security threats. Also, discussed possible mitigation and defending mechanisms, such as monitoring and intrusion detection software. Lecture: 2 hrs/week; tutorial: 2 hrs/week; Lab: 2 hrs/week.
