About Chemical Engineering Technology

PET Department, in close collaboration with other departments in Abu Dhabi Polytechnic and industrial partners, strives to provide students with innovative teaching and learning environment and cutting-edge infrastructure from labs and workshops to assure quality in petroleum and chemical engineering education. The department encourages students and faculty members and equips them with services and skills to enable them to contribute effectively to the advancement of knowledge and innovative practice of engineering technology.

The Petroleum Engineering Technology – Program Educational Objectives (PET-PEOs) are derived from AD Polytechnic vision and educational goals. Three to five years after graduation, PET alumni shall:

  • PLO1: Contribute to innovative and practical applications towards upstream and downstream elements of advances in Petroleum Engineering Technology in UAE.
  • PLO2: Continue professional development through active participation in professional organizations, trainings or post graduate education.
  • PLO3: Adhere to ethical, social and global responsibilities in the practice of Petroleum Engineering Technology and Oil & Gas Process Engineering Technology.

The graduates of the petroleum engineering and chemical engineering technology program of Abu Dhabi Polytechnic are in high demand in the market and this fact is reflected in the high employment rate that reaches 87% in the local market. Our graduates are ready to hit the ground as ready engineers as Abu Dhabi Polytechnic makes sure that our graduates are equipped with knowledge, skills and professional certification that enable them to excel of their peers in the field.
