What is NQA?

Diploma, AD and AB in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering

This program is comprised of units that are based on the National Qualification Emirates (NQE) framework. Students can achieve a level of competency once he/she completes all units within that level. After completing a level, students are free to start the next level’s units. The Diploma, Advanced Diploma, and Applied Bachelor are three consecutive levels of competencies labeled as levels 5, 6, and 7 under NQE respectively. Level 5 (Diploma) comprises 27 units. All level 5 units are based on the European Aviation Safety Agency’s part 66 curriculum. Level 5 units cover Maintenance Certifying Technician (Mechanic or Avionic) qualifications for a B1 or B2 aircraft maintenance license. Level 6 (Advanced Diploma) comprises an additional 14 units that should be completed in advanced aviation and engineering subjects. These units are meant to provide the student with a broad educational base with emphasis on core aviation principles. Level 7 (applied Bachelor) comprises 9 units that will complete the under graduate level of higher education in aviation maintenance.
